Zion Linguist Joins The One Foot Groove Team
We are pleased to announce the inclusion of South African trance
icon Zion Linguist to the One Foot Groove stable. Having
produced his particular brand of driving psyTrance for some time,
he has enjoyed tours around various parts of
the world. He has also contributed to the musical landscape
through his own label, MMD Records, which has been instrumental in
developing the South African trance scene both through its releases
and through the high quality events that they host. We're
proud to have him join the team and we look forward to all future
collaborations.

The DJ competition moves to South Africa
Following the success of the DJ competition held in June 2011 in Portugal, One Foot Groove is bringing the event to South Africa. The DJs will battle it out for the top spot, which comes with a tour to Europe.
The event exists to showcase the talents of various DJs in and
around Cape Town, and it acts as a means to facilitate
inter-continental exchange between the various trance scenes.
Confirmed for 13 April 2012, the event will be hosted at the
legendary Purple Turtle in Long Street - in the heart of
the
Mother City - in collaboration with Mungus Fungus, who have become
respected for their weekly trance events in Cape Town.

Phase 2 Review
2011-05-30
It has been five years since the debut album by Noiseanomalie was released and at last I have my hands on his latest.
It is a pity that the album consists only of six tracks, that aside this is an album of musical delight. Phase 2 starts off with a bang, as I experienced by the sudden start of "Debatable Legality". This track is slow, brooding and a good way to start a set and get those feet moving. "Think Again" picks up the beat radically and gave me that rushing, swirling and twirling feeling - lovely. The crunchy sound, deep bass and comical "whoops" of "Sound of da Police" put a smile on my face had me reaching for my party shoes. "Phase 2" contains what sounds like the start of "Nommer Asseblief". I don't know if this was intentional but it is really fun. The inclusion of Futurama sound bytes adds to the humour. The final two tracks are by Aggitated and Atyss, brilliantly remixed by Noiseanomalie. This fun album should be in your collection. Recommended

Tryambaka`s interview.

Tiago Pimentel is one of the most recognized artists in the world and has had the opportunity to perform in several countries all over the World. He joined One Foot Groove early 2010 and released his latest creation Replenishing Roots on the 4 of February 2011.
1 - Replenishing Roots how did that occur to you?
Well I had this idea for a long time.. I sometimes played on my dj sets really old tracks that I love to hear, but they had to be always the last ones on the set because of the quality difference (almost 10 years of sonic evolution is quite noticeable!!!). So I thought that it was cool to present the only people that still buy cds with something really useful!
2 - There are several collaborations on your latest creation why?
There are actually 2 tracks with other artists. I wanted to have one with Shiva Joerg because of his influence in this scene since… always!… and I also wished to refresh one of my own roots with the track that I had more feedback from my first album "I Saw Your Saw", and who better to do it with me than my Sick Addiction partner?!
3- How did your closest friends react to it and what was their general opinion?
They enjoyed the concept, as much as I do I believe. I think some were concerned because they were all RMX's from "goa age" melodic tracks, so they carried in some sonic difference from my previous work. But I was fortunate to be able to imprint my personality on them… I'm very happy with the final result and the current feedback… especially from old school trance music lovers!
4 - You have been traveling a lot the last few years, which places have been the most amazing to you and why?
Well spiritually was without any doubt India because I got to go to Trimbakeshwar Temple and got a special prayer for my family and me… And party wise I can honestly say that the South African experience has been incredible… early starting parties with people dancing at 5pm on the dance floor. Last time it started to rain like hell and the people just stayed and danced their ass off! Awesome crowd and party promoters.
5 - Any funny stories you want to share with us while you were there?
It wasn't in any of the places above mentioned, but the most weird wasn't such a good one. Long story short… I stayed in the party with Manuel for 30 minutes, and after we had to pick up a ride from a friend we found (fortunately!!) and ran away from barbaric people that came in the party throwing rocks at the sound system and raising hell!...
Yeah musician life isn't a sea of roses at all!
6 - Is there a new album cooking in your studio and if so would you like to share with us?
Yeah my third album is already being made. After being away a lot on gigs, I've been making the most of my available time on the studio… I'm so happy with it so far! I'm a very inspired person right now fortunately! hehehe
7 - Finally which country is still in your to do list?
On the top of my to do list is Japan.
